The 2014 season is rapidly coming to a close. Ironman Arizona is the last full distance event in the US and only a handful of races remain on the calendar.
Five Timex Multisport Team athletes took on the desert heat, only to find lots of desert winds. Here's how the day shaped up for them:
Joe Umphenour - 14th Pro Male (8:46:21)
Craig Lanza - 2nd place M45-49 (9:42:16) *KONA Qualifier
Shannon Coates - 3rd place F25-29 (11:16:45)
Luis Avarez - Finished his 116th Ironman and third Ironman in as many weeks!
Matt Russell - Used the race as training for Ironman Cozumel and pulled the plug after the bike
Five Timex Factory Team members also took on IM AZ. The results are as follows:
Yolanda Hundley - F30-35 (15:11:46)
Delinda Waldron - F60-64 (16:34:37)
Craig Thorsen - M45-49 (13:35:57)
Carlos Santiago - M30-34 (14:02:12)
Brad Kelley - M45-49 (DNF due to eye infection from swim)
Congrats to all who fought hard out there. It was a hard day!
