The Timex Factory Team was launched in mid-2012 with the goal of creating a larger community of Timex athletes. The application for the Timex Multisport Team saw well over 1,000 resumes each year although only a handful of new applicants could make the cut due to the size restrictions on the team of 50 athletes. Many very qualified athletes were turned down for years. There was an obvious need for a second team to provide support for a larger group of athlete ambassadors and with the support from Timex and a small group of partners, the Timex Factory Team was born.

With only a few years under it's belt, the Timex Factory Team is home to over 320 athletes worldwide and is supported by industry leading partners: Trek, Castelli, blueseventy, Skins, Skratch Labs, Greenlayer, and Challenge Tires - and the list keeps growing.

The Timex Factory Team has also evolved into a stepping stone for athletes looking to race on the Timex Multisport Team. Kathryn Taylor was the first athlete to make the jump in 2014, after a stellar season on the Timex Factory Team in 2013. 2015 saw only two athletes added to the Multisport roster, both from the Factory Team, including James Burke, who stunned the triathlon world by winning almost every race he entered, including the overall win at Ironman Louisville. The Timex Factory Team will continue to be a launching pad for elite and inspirational athletes alike.

The Timex Factory Team application for 2017 is now closed. Applications open in November of each year.
